Title: Analyst Error Handler
Post by: atoz on 05 Apr 2007 02:02:31 AM
Hi all,

While trying to copy model or even move / integrity check process I am getting Analyst Error Handler screen which simply logs me out of Analyst application.
The model resides on the server with free HD space of 112 GB.

I also did rebuild and refresh references for libraries to be copied. But error persists.

Even while running links sometimes this error pops up.

Has anybody faced this issue before and have resolution?

Best Regards.

Try to rebuild and refresh references for all libraries.

I have had this happen a number of times for various things.  It seems that Analyst gives a nondescript error and then logs you out of the product.  Often times, there is something wrong with one of the objects.  It is a good suggestion to refresh the library references.  This may not solve the problem though.

There is something wrong with one of the objects in the model.  Usually, I've found it is a macro that has a bad step in it that causes Analyst to log you off.

If the model isn't that big, try running any macros and see if they cause the same logoff error.  Usually, you will have an Analyst macro to run all of the cube objects if it is an Analyst only model.  If it isn't, and goes to Contributor, I would suggest building a d-cube update macro for the cube data flow and then running it to see where the error may be located.

Hopefully, that helps a bit.

It could also be a problem with Analyst especially if it is kicking you out of the application.  Take the Analyst lib to another server or even a PC and determine if the error happens again.  If it doesn't, you have yourself an environment issue and you should either reinstall or reapply the configurations.

Thanks.

Thanks for all the replies.

The issue was with reports with flowchart. We had to delete the same. The user has substituted dlists for many dcubes for some weird reason and hence there was duplication of objects and complexity within libs. The same has been sorted out and the process of copy has been through.
