Title: Install cognos 7.5 on distributed windows 2008 R2 (64bit)
Post by: Summer on 22 Nov 2012 05:55:17 PM
Has anyone successfully install cognos 7.5 on distributed windows 2008 R2 (64bit)?

It's working fine when i install all components on a single machine and I can open TOC, great outdoor cube.

But i've never get it work in the distributed environment. I have 2 windows 2008 R2 64bit server, one is the web server(server1)  and another one is the application server (server2) . I installed gateway components on the web server. when I type http://webserver/cognos/cgi-bin/ppdscgi.exe, it can't show TOC and it can't open the great outdoor cube on application server (server2). I noticed that ppdsweb.exe was initiated on application server, but there's no temporary html files created in TEMP directory.

Has anyone have any idea to resolve the problem?

Thank you for the reply. So sorry for the late response. IBM tech support helped to fix the issue: set 'Restrict the Outgoing Web Port' to TURE no matter firewall exists or not.
