Title: Summary on Custom field
Post by: jcaserti on 15 Nov 2012 09:47:51 AM
I have a report with several columns that have a summary.  My custom column that was created in Framework Manager is an "All Other" column.  If any of the previous columns do not have a value then the All column = 'Y'.  When I apply the summary to this column, the count displays as a total row count, not just the 'Y'.  The other fields count as they should.  I have attached a copy of the report which I downloaded in excel format.  The 'All Other' column should show a summary count of 16, but it has the same count as the ID  count of 67.  Any ideas why this is happening and how I can resolve it?

What's the expression for "All other"?

My guess is that you are populating the column for every value, even if you are doing so with an empty string (''). That is why the count is returning the number of rows, because all of them have something. Change FM to populate Y or NULL instead of Y or ''.

Thanks, Bark...that makes sense.  I will make the change.  I was using 'Y' or ''.
