Title: Framework manager - Is Nullable attribute
Post by: cognosjon on 13 Nov 2012 02:55:25 PM
Evening All,

I'm encountering something I've not seen before in Framework manager and wanted to know if anyone else has come across it and knows whether its likely to cause any issues.

I'm using Framework Manager 10.1.1 and have an Oracle datasource.
Within the framework I adopt the usual three layer approach. When I pull a table from the Oracle database all is fine all attributes report as I expect.

However when I then Merge the table into a new query subject the 'Is Nullable'  attribute of all metric fields within the new query subject change.
So for example those that are defined as being 'Is Nullable' = True are becoming Is Nullable = False.

This value is dependent upon the datasource so I dont know why its changing and if its likely to cause any issue (it doesnt appear to be doing so).

Thanks for reading

Hi,

To be honest, I don't think it would cause an issue. the "Is Nullable" property is mearly a FYI field, you cannot edit it and, as it comes from the DBMS I would only relay on it to be true (accurate) in the Physical Layer.
