Yes, bookmarks work both in HTML, XLSX and PDF format.

Hi,

I've checked it, and you're right. Bookmark doesn't work in old XLS format.

In new XLSX format the cells which contain the bookmark items are named regions. When you click on a drill through item then Excel can find the corresponding bookmark with the help of the named regions.
In older format Cognos doesn't set these named regions, so the bookmars don't work.

I don't know which Cognos version you are using, but as I know you can save your report in the new Excel 2007 format since version 8.4, so use this format.

If your customer doesn't have Excel 2007+, then installing the Office 2007 compatibility pack can be a solution for the problem.
