Title: Upgrade from Cognos 8.2 to Cognos 10.

Our client is using Cognos 8.2 currently.We would like to upgrade from Cognos 8.2 to Cognos 10.
Can any one please explain the benefits and advantages for upgrading to Cognos 10 from Cognos 8.2.

Cognos provides a list of new feature documentation in their knowledgebase for every new release along with bug fixes.

Major topics are from 8.2 - 10.1.1/10.2 would be Business Insight / Business Insight Advance they are comparable to the other studios that are offered. They also had major enhancement for report studio with use of active reports/ using DQM ( Dynamic query mode). They also have a better mobile delivery/ even along with smart device apps for iPad/ Android.

Just one note, to take advantage of DQM (Dynamic Query Mode) you have to first publish your model this option enabled otherwise if you use your old model as is, you will still be using CQM (Classic Query Mode).
