Report Studio reports with images will not load in the Cognos Mobile App. The reports times out while loading. If I remove the image (jpeg or gif) the report will load as expected.
Any thoughts on how to resolve?

SOLUTION: I believe the reason for this odd occurrence that charts do not appear is due to a simple error in the configuration of the gateway URL. What was interesting is when the report ran and closed the "thumbnail" did show the chart. The reason it was difficult to troubleshoot is the browser on the iPhone/iPad is less developer friendly than a PC or MAC browser.
When I installed the Safari onto my PC and logged onto the Cognos Mobile site, I was able to run the report and yes the charts still did not render, but what I was able to do was to click on the chart picture and tell the browser to download the picture. The new browser window appeared indicated that "the page could not be found." I looked at the URL and it had a reference I had not seen before /mobileService/. I tracked that down but it still did not help me with my problem. It wasn't until a bit later that I realized that underlying URL was different that the logon.
Yes, the gateway URL was still set with the "generic" path which was not referenced in web service itself. UGH.... Really. No wonder so many people were not having this issue. Either they left it in the generic state or they full configured (as they should) ALL URLs referenced. Once this was corrected. VOILA!! All renders as it should.
Bottom-line advice: Check all URL paths in the configuration (at least from a Windows perspective).

I have the last version of everything here and on Report Studio when i use images by background properties it just doesn´t work on ipad. However, images using the image object works nice on ipad!
Im still trying to figure out what the heck is going on!
