Title: Help needed!
Post by: vivek_cyno on 02 Aug 2012 07:08:22 AM
Hi,

I can see a blue color Icon in cognos connection that is Package folder.

I would like to know how to save the reports into that blue color folder.

Thanks.

Whenever you author a report from within a studio, select the folder as the "Save as" location when saving the report.

MF.

Hi MGFG...It allows me to save into YELLOW color folder not the blue one.

What is the difference between Blue and yellow folders

Hi Cyno,

Blue denotes that it's a package, containing connection information for any associated reports.

Yellow denotes that it's a simple folder object, a container for other objects in Cognos Connection.

Check whether you have 'Write' permissions on the location you are attempting to save your report to.  If you don't this is probably the reason you are unable to save to this location.

All the best,

Simon

Yep - exactly as Simon says. Assuming you have no Admin privileges, you will need your administrator to grant write privileges to you for the package folder.

Cheers!
