Title: Sub totals on ungrouped records

I have what I think is a somewhat odd question...

I am writing a report for a client who does not want his cross-tab records to be grouped, but wants sub-counts on each would be group of records. Is this at all possible?

Is the objection to grouping due to the fact that the grouped elements down repeat on each row? If so, this post has some techniques to alter the group span.

I tend to think you'll need to do grouping in order to get a sub-total.
