Does anyone know how can I remove the alternate grey background from the chart area and replace it with white color?
Hi,
I haven't got 10 in front of me but I'm guessing its the same. Unlock the report and then you should be able to click on the chart body itself and set the background.

RobsWalker68 thanks for the reply
Unfotunately its not the same
But fortunately I found the solution.
You have to select the axis and delete the gridlines
Hi,
Off the top of my head...
Charts have a "Coloured Regions" property (I think) - you could try setting this to White and defining it as starting at 0% and finishing at 100%

Ha! I just went to check, and noticed a "Plot Area Fill" property just a couple down from the Coloured Regions setting. Set this to White and it will remove the grey bands. It looks like my previous suggestion will work too...

I tried that before finding the solution
The result is instead of having of grey alternate background you have a red alternate background ;-)
The alternate background came from the gridlines of the axes
I just tried it (both ways) and got a plain white background behind the bars with both approaches. Wherever is your Red coming from?
MF.
The red I put it as example instead of white
For example see the attached
Unlock. Select Axis. From properties, open Gridlines. Untick 'show alternating color bands'
Hi,
You can change Alternate grey background via
1. Select the Primary Axis in the chart
2. Properties-> Primary Axis -> General
3. Open the Properties of Gridlines
4. Change First , Second color Bands to white
5. Also chang Major Gridlines Color
This helped me, thanks
In Cognos 10.2
Unlock the report
Select the Category axis
Open Gridlines from Properties and uncheck 'Show alternating color bands'
I cannot find Gridlines option in the Properties after unlocking. Am I missing some setting?
