Title: Anonymous users need PVU license?
Post by: whome on 26 Mar 2012 10:49:27 AM
We currently have many Authorized User licenses. We also have PVU licenses for "Consumer Limited" use. We're about to renegotiate our licensing, based upon changing needs, and I want to know more about what I'm talking about in those discussions.

Do we need to have PVU licenses for Anonymous use? We have several reports that are embedded in public web pages.

Or is the Anonymous user simply a special case Authorized User? The defintions that IBM has in the license agreement are not helpful for the Anonymous user.

I know -- I need to talk to IBM, but that's where I'm headed!

Thanks a lot.

Authorized user licenses should only be for 'studio' capability if you have PVU license as well.

PVU allows any user (unlimited/anonymous/all authenticated...) to run reports.
Remember, it's only to run reports as consumer unless you have PVU for enhanced consumers that can use active reports as well...

Authorized or named users are report authors that have access to Query, Analysis, Report etc... studios.

We use 'All authenticated' instead of anonymous but PVU license doesn't care how many consumers there are.
