Title: Cognos licenses - number of users
Post by: meri on 18 Mar 2012 10:10:49 AM
Hi all,

Does Cognos have some kind of anonymous licenses so we can give access to all users from our AD, even though there are more users than bought licenses? So that number of licenses matches a number of active users at the same time?

Thnx,
Meri

Hi

I would advise speaking to IBM if you are a direct customer or your Cognos partner for further clarification.  It sounds like a server based licensing model may be something you are after but you will need to clarify the extra cost and restrictions that will entail in your environment.

If you want open access to all AD users, you have to get PVU server license.
It'll give unlimited 'Consumer' license.
However, you still have to purchase studio licenses.
