Post by: gshilpa24 on 01 Mar 2012 04:51:10 AM
Hi,

there are packages available in production. when the package is zipped and sent it across, i Don see the .cpf file for me to open in FM.

I see only,

Content.xml
package.xml
exportRecord.xml

can anyone tell how do i open the model in FM?

Please let me know... as this is bit urgent

A package is the runtime version of the model. The model itself uses multiple files, among them a .cpf.
A package is used within connection not to be opened in FM. You need the model (files) for that..

Thanks for the response....

I understand there should be model.xml existing in production. The person sent me a zipped file so when i extracted the zipped file it contained ,

content.xml
exportRecord.xml
package.xml

there is no model.xml file ... Meaning is it corrupted ?

Thanks,
Sg

The .zip extension is used by Cognos for importing/exporting purposes.  The model.xml is part of the FM model set of files , NOT of a published package. You are looking at an package export, not the model (set of client files for FM)

You can do this with the right click of a button using MetaManager.  Check out BSP Software's Podcast Channel http://www.bspsoftware.com/Support/PodcastChannel/tabid/228/Default.aspx (http://www.bspsoftware.com/Support/PodcastChannel/tabid/228/Default.aspx) for 3.16: Recovering Lost Framework Manager Models.
