Title: Migrating Access Manager users and security to Active Directory in Cognos 10

Hi,

We currently use Access Manager to maintain our security and we would like to change the namespace to use an Active Directory security model.  Is there an easy way to migrate the users and security from one namespace to another?  We are currently using Cognos 8.3 with an Access Manager namespace/security model and will be moving to Cognos 10 using Active Directory security model.

How do I migrate the users to the new security model?   (SDK, tool, manually???)   Any help, scripts, or advice will be greatly appreciated.

That's a really good document, but I see nothing in it about automating the process of moving all your users from one authentication provider to another.

That's because there is no automation of such a task.

You will have to create the users in AD and then move their junk to their new profiles.

I'd suggest you get them to do this for you. Create a public "Migration folder" then have them create their own folder under this and move whatever they want from their personal "My Folders" to here. Then once they login with their AD account move their junk back into their new "My folders".

Also, there is a service provided by the IBM Cognos SDK team that can help you with this migration, but I beleive it comes at a cost. Contact Support for more info.
