Title: Any issues with Cognos 8.4.1 BI FP4 (for BI and Planning environment)
Post by: jeffowentn on 27 Jan 2012 01:08:01 PM
Just wondering if anyone has installed Cognos 8.4.1 BI FP4 in a Windows environment and SQL database into a distributed environment with both BI and Planning?  We are currently at BI FP3 and EP FP2.  I just want to make sure I'm aware of any new issues possibly introduced by FP4.

Has anyone installed Cognos BI 8.4.1 FixPack 4, yet?

I have in 3 Dev envs so far with my 2 production envs coming next week. It has resolved a bunch of issues we were encountering. It also has our 2 hotsites rolled into it which had not made their way completely to Prod yet.

That said we do NOT have Planning, and we are running BI on Solaris. So your mileage may vary.

Grim,

Thanks for the feedback.  Hopefully, some others will post their experiences, as well...I've installed in DEV and QA, this week, and will likely plan to roll out to PROD, next week, or the following week, at the latest...

Grim,

If you don't mind, what sort of errors did the BI FP4 address for you?  We have seen a number of dispatcher errors (DPR-ERR-1035) for the longest time...

Well it covered our 2 hotsites as mentioned. But it also resolved issue with deleting/removing schedules from the schedule list and minor reporting stuff that the report designers were complaining about. Can't say exactly what, but they had mentioned they were listed in the fix list.
