Hi everyone
Quick question regarding this install: is it ok to connect my fresh 10.1.1 install to my existing 10.1 FP1 content store?
I know it's probably not best practice, but we do not have room on our Oracle system to backup the existing database and use that instead.

It would be better to do a full content store export from Cognos Administration (out to a zip file), then start your new 10.1.1 install with a clean content store, then import the content using Cognos Administration.

Unfortunately I don't have that option. Trying more to ask if it's possible to do it this other way because that option isn't available to me.

It's possible, but extremely risky. I would never do it that way unless I had a test environment, and didn't care if it ever worked. The risk involved in trying to use the old db is that if IBM has changed the schema of the content store in any way, your environment could be trashed.
If the problem is just space, then export the entire content store, delete the old content db, have the new blank db created. When you start the services on your 10.1.1 environment, the new (correct) schema will be created. Then import the content from the content export you performed.

Choked to say, but I don't have a test environment! We only have live unfortunately so that isn't so feasible for me to do without wrecking the existing environment.
