Title: [Solved] Connection string to connect to SQL Server in cognos.ini
Post by: Steve on 16 Jan 2007 06:42:45 PM
Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong forum but I couldn't find any forum related to installation/configuration.

I have a database in SQL Server and I can connect to it from Framework Manager and make the project. Problem is when I try to bring the IQD into Transformer, it cannot connect to SQL Server. I can connect thru ODBC.

I think I have to put a conenction string in cognos.ini. Can anybody share the string? What should that line in cognos.ini look like? My database name is ERP and the default port used by SQL Server is 1433.

Thanks,
Steve

Usually i would edit the definition like this..

ERP=;LOCAL;OD;DSN=ERPODBC@ASYNC=0@0/0
