Title: Query Property: Override Dimension Info
Post by: venkiatmaruthi on 02 Jan 2012 02:53:09 AM
In the report studio,
If you click on query, you can find a property in Data section "Override Dimension Info".

Can anyone please tell me what is the benfit of this property?

It allows you to define dimensional structures etc where you want to override the dimension information defined in the data source (if present) or add dimension information to (for example) a flat relational package.

The user guide explains it quite nicely:

I know this is an old post, but I've also wondered about this property (a lot of the reports I "inherited", dating from the ReportNet era, use it), and whether it's still useful in C10.

Today I came across this article giving a neat example of its use:    http://xploreplus.com/kb/remove-default-grouping-from-ibm-cognos-crosstab/ (http://xploreplus.com/kb/remove-default-grouping-from-ibm-cognos-crosstab/)
