Print Page - Install FM locally

All, I have installed FM on my laptop, I have also creted an ODBC to the Data Warehouse used in my FM package but when I try and access the data source in FM I get an error, can anyone help?

Do I need to have SQL Server tools on my laptop?

Hi Stuart,

Hope all is well down sarf!!

Have a look at installing SQL Server connectivity, although you don't need the tools themselves. Any issues give me a call as day off tomorrow.

You will need the SQL Server client tools on your local machine, yes. If you are connecting via ODBC you will need the ODBC DSN defining both on the Cognos server and on your local machine too.

1. Whats the error?
2. Have you configured the connection to the gateway in Cognos Configuration?
