I have a question that will sound quite odd. I was recently told that I will need to install and configure and administer Cognos 8.4.1 without having full admin privileges on the server(Windows 2003). Has anyone ever done this?
I tried installing and running Framework Manager as a power user and it appeared to work but errors would occur with no explanation and then as soon as I was given admin privileges the errors would stop.
I will be a member of the Sys Admin group within Cognos but on the server itself I will not. Looking for advice on if this is possible or any particular hurdles I may encounter. Lack of ability to control IIS is the first one that comes to mind.
Hi,
The user you are logged in as when you run the install will need privileges to create the Cognos 10 service and to update the registry, among other things.

MF.
