Title: modifying key information in the model.xml file
Post by: cognosfreelancer on 21 Dec 2006 04:21:07 PM
Cognoise..its been so long!

One of my clients built a model using FM 1.1 MR3 Build 510 against an Oracle table.

She imported all tables along with the primary key information.

Queries written against these tables result in automatic grouping using the primary key information.

This slows down the query tremenduously.

Since a lot of effort has already been placed into it I was wondering if it is possible to modify the key information in the model.xml file rather than rebuilding Rome  ;)..

I could not find any appropriate entry in the model.xml file to accomplsh this.

Anybody been there and done that

Thanks
NKT

You could try to do this. I think it will work, but be carefull. There comes a lot of additional information within the tags describing the index information. All must be set correctly AND make sure you use a good XML editor (there are some good free editors) because I experienced personally that notepad can corrupt UTF-8 encoded XML Files :S
