Hi,
I am able to display the summarized data (totals) before the detailed data in a LIST report - this is can be done by creating a LIST header.
I am working on Crosstab report now. The above method does not work in a Crosstab report. Essentially, i would like to move the Totals (which is shown at the bottom) to the top of the report (underneath the header for the report). Can this be done? If this is possible, could you please help to show me how? Thank you in advance.
I think this might help - create the total for the column you need. Then depending where you need the total placed, click that particular column (example: for the very top, click the first column and so on) and from the top icon buttons pull down the Headers icon (think the 3rd or 4th icon from the right) and click Create header.
Now, click the Totals cell you had created earlier and move that into the header you just created. Be careful to drop it exactly into the header cell not above or below it and you should have your header total now
might have to play around with padding the header cell and/or the other columns for aesthetics
Hi Arsenal,
For the example, I tried using Go Data Warehouse (query) ..
- (ROW) Product Line, (COL) Order Method and (MEASURE) Quantity.
- Highlight Product Line -> click on Total
- Highlight Product Line -> Structure ... -> Create Header (a header is created)
- Unlock
- Highlight the Total(Quantity) ---> the Product Line -> Quantity will be highligted as well.
- Drag the Total(Quantity) into the Header cell
- Nothing happens :(
I have tried this method on a LIST report and it works. Any suggestion? Thank you.
1. Drag a crosstab space just below the crosstab column header.
2. The new crosstab intersection will have the Row coordinate of the crosstab space and the same colum coordinate.
The effect is that the value shown in the first line below the column headers is the total value for the column
Not sure how total(quantity) is coming. It should be total(ProductLine). Anyway, I just tried it out and it works.
Y
ou may have only moved the data item label by mistake. Keep the report locked, and highlight the entire cell which says total(productline). And then move it into the header you created so essentially you're dropping the total(productline) cell into the header. After this if you wish, you may unlock the report, delete the text which says total(productline) but be careful to not delete the cell itself, drag in a taxt item into the cell and type in an appropriate label
Hello blom0344 and Arsenal,
Sorry, my question was not clear. I need to move the entire <#Total(Product line)#> and its Cell Value <#1234#> to the top (just beneath the main header). The report will have:-
Quantity Telephone Mail Web etc...
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Total 9999 9999 9999
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Personal Accessories 99 99 99
Camping Equipment 99 99 99
etc...
Yours steps help to create a header but I cannot move the Cell Value along.
Arsenal, sorry total(quantity) is wrong, should have been total(product line).
Any suggestion please? Much thanks.
(tried to attach a screen shot when I tried to respond earlier, it failed. Not sure if my respond went through earlier but I am sending this again).
the steps I gave will help you do exactly what you're asking for. I can't upload attachments here, else I would have attached a screenshot here.
We don't have GO Sales enabled either else I could have given you a report spec. The key is to just select the #total cell and move it to the header. You'll see the #1234 moving along with it
Hi Arsenal,
It is working now .... I was not selecting the cells correctly earlier. Yes, like you mentioned the key is to just select #total cell .
Thank you so much for following up and helping me resolve this report need.
