Title: Defining custom member sets
Post by: rellaize on 06 Oct 2011 01:07:29 PM
Hi all  8)
I've got a little weird behaviour while defining member sets for more then one query ie. seems like report studio doesn't refresh member sets pane or overwrite when switching queries. Suppose Query1 contains Item1 and Query2 contains Item2, when I drag Item1 to member sets, then switch to Query2 and it's member sets contains Item1 that is out of scope Query2 actually.

Anyone knows why is it so? Is member sets common for all queries? If so, why items are overwrited?
I've verified this issue on 2 seperated Cognos servers (8.3 and 8.4.1), both with dimensional and DMR models.

Kindest regards
Rella

If memory serves, member sets are valid for the report as a whole, and must each have a unique name within the report. It's been a good while since I did much with them, though, and my senile old brain may be playing tricks on me. :)

thanks for reply  ;)

actually I have taken a deeper dive into it and found that it must be a Report Studio bug in fact. Eventually you need to open drill options to force refreshing.  :o
