Title: Cognos certification... Help!!
Post by: sravantig on 04 Oct 2011 01:30:35 AM
Hi all

I'm a newbie in cognos, before I apply for jobs, I want to complete my certification. One of my friend suggested me with IBM cognos report authoring 112. But I think this certification is retired. :-\

Is http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/tests/ovrCOG-612.shtml (http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/tests/ovrCOG-612.shtml) this the new certification which replaced the 112? As i'm a newbie which one do I need to start with? What books do I need to read?

Please suggest me as to how to go about it? is it really tough for me to crack? Where do I need to register for the exam?

Thank You in advance.  :)

Hi,

Yes - this certification is the replacement for 112, and is a good place to start. If you have attended the Report Authoring course at IBM, the course manuals and content will stand you in good stead. You might also want to read the Report Studio user guide and get familiar with using the tool and building reports.  If you have no experience it will obviously be more difficult to pass than otherwise.  The exams are hosted by Prometric - there is a link to register with them on the right hand side of the page you linked to in your original message.

Regards,

MF.
