Title: DMR: How to force a measure to display 0 (or blank) for a given dimension
Post by: atnaatna on 01 Aug 2011 07:54:03 AM
All - it is my understanding that I can use the "set scope" feature to control which measures will render a value for a given dimension in DMR.  I may have misunderstood.

In short, is there an easy solution out there to for an FM package to render a measure with a value of zero (0) or blank when a given dimension is used?

Thanks.

Well, actually that is were the scope would come into play. If you have measures that have 'wrong' granularity for a given dimension then make sure to remove the scope for that combination.

blom0344 - I tried to remove the scope via FM, however it does not work.  We are using 8.3 and I have called Cognos Support about this issue and they have informed me that it is a bug (or an enhancement that will not be available until a later version).

If you are able to set this properly, can you provide me with a small snippet of code or a small "model.xml" file so that I can see the settings.

Thanks.

I'm on 8.4.1., so if this is an issue with 8.3 it will do you no good.  What is the bug?  Not being able to set the scope properly, or not getting the right result for setting the scope?
