I am facing a problem in displaying a part of prompt value in report headre. My problem is as follows.
I am using Cognos 8 BI Report Studio.
I have a value prompt having String values. I want to display the 1st word from the selected value in the prompt in my report header which is the part of Report Title.
Ex. If I select "1999 Actuals" in the value prompt, the report title should show "Report for 1999".
ParamDisplayValue() function is not sufice my requirement.
I had created a Data Item in the main report query which is the substring of the query item. If I am using a list in the report header to display the data item, its coming to the down line of the report title.
Report for
1999
But it should come in the same line.
Need a help from this group.

I am attaching the report specification. As I said earlier, I need to display the report title as "Report for 1999" if the user has chosen the "1999 Actuals" from the prompt.
