Hi,
On an Ipad I have a web page that I want to have a link to a specific report within Cognos 10 Mobile and pass a parameter to it.
The first page is a CMS with Google maps that has to be run outside of Cognos Mobile as I have discovered so far. I need to place a link with a parameter to pass back to a speciific report within Mobile so the user can begin navigating inside of mobile from the context of the pin they were on in the Google Map.
On a laptop this works. Is this possible on the Ipad?
When you indicated CMS, were you referring to a content management system? If so, GroupLogic has a mobile file system for the iPad that enables a document from a CMS to be pulled down to the iPad. Especially important if working with a regulated vertical (finance, healthcare, energy, gov't).
CMS stands for Cognos Mashup Services
While in theory that should be do-able, I am not yet as familiar as I would like to be with mashups so I cannot say with certainty. Are you hitting the mobile site with the laptop? Otherwise you are not really testing the same thing, as the page is rendered differently with Cognos Mobile. But you probably knew this.
I would be interested in learning whether this works out for you or not. I have a project just getting started where we'd like to do something similar. We will not have control over what device/browser is used to view the content so we are also looking into Cognos Mobile. Seems a pity that the Cognos report generator is not a bit more browser agnostic. :-(
