Title: User Interface in PP Web 7.4 - Make it look like 7.1?
Post by: trevwoody on 12 Oct 2006 05:46:32 AM
Hello all. I've taken over a Cognos implementation and got a large deployment of users that are on PP version 7.1. I'm planning to migrate them to 7.4 but there is resistance to the change because of the enhanced user interface. I believe there is a setting on PPES to switch back from the enhanced user interface to 'classic' look as used in 7.1

I've not done an installation to prove it yet but hopefully someone can confirm that this is the case before I do it as a test?

Thanks for advice,
Trevor

The "dynamic" user interface is not longer available in 7.4.
Anyway, the new interface is so much better. You should just train the users.

Why oh why would anyone would want to use the 6.61 interface (that's when it started I think)? What are the advantages?

I agree. Train the users in 7.4 interface. And Upfront is still mainly the same. It's not 1/2 the task of training them for a 7.x to 8 migration.
