Title: How does the P_REFERENCEDCAMOBJECT table work?
Post by: Hitman on 08 Jul 2011 09:51:47 AM
Hi Guys,

Do anyone of you know the exact role of the P_REFERENCEDCAMOBJECT table in Contributor application datastore ???

Does this table play any role while Publishing data and will the publish data have any reference to this table? :-\

:) Thanks in advance  :)

Hey Hitman,

Let me take a crack at this and anyone else with more information, please chime in.

As far as publishing is concerned, this table should not have any influence over it.  There are no associations between the security layout in the P_REFERENCEDCAMOBJECT table and a publish container.  When you generate an FM model, it will likely use the security in this table and correlate it to the publish container to forward cube level security into your FM model.

Eg: You, Hitman, have access to one e-list item in a contributor application.  If security didn't flow forward into the FM model you would then, theoretically, be able to see all the data for all e-list items (assumption: you published all e-list items).

The purpose of the P_REFERENCECAMOBJECT table is to store security information regarding the rights of the application.

Hope this helps.

What ericlfg says is correct.   This table is used to lookup rights and capabilities in a number of areas, such as extension, deployments, some jobs.  I do not know specifically if it is used for publish or not.

Do you have a problem which is why you are asking?
