I am facing a strange issue with using LifeCycle Manager. When i select the source report in LCM and its processing that request, my 8.4 server goes down. I get the error of Cognos gateway nor able to connect to BI server. Then, when i shutdown LCM, its back up and running.
Any ideas gurus?
Just to add, my 10 is a single server install and 8.4 distributed.
Surely you're past this and have probably completed a successful upgrade. This info will be for others with the same issue.
1. Lower the number of connections that LCM can make.
2. Create smaller projects within LCM, do NOT try and have an entire content store within one project.
3. Monitor both LCM and the Cognos app server which it is accessing.
4. LCM is resource intensive so try to run it after-hours or preferably on a test box if there's one available.
