Has anyone created a FM against Kintana? Is anyone using CRN or PPES to report against Kintana?
Thanks in advance.....
first time hearing abt kintana. is this kintana similar to sap
Kintana, purchased by Mercury Interactive in 2003, provides IT Portfolio, Program, Project and Resource tracking. There is built in reporting and some basic dashboarding/drilling, but I would like to investigate whether we could do better if we put CRN and PPES on top of it.
according to my understanding kintana is also one of the reporting softwares. which has few dashboarding facilities also. if my understanding is r8 then i feel u cannot keep CRN on top of it. For Eg. U cannot say that i will put CRN on top of Business Object. Both of them are different. If Kintana also a reporting software then i feel CRN can;t be on top of kintana. Both are different.
Well, I don't know anything about Kintana, but if it has a database that ReportNet can connect to, then you can create iqds (and hence cubes) and ReportNet reports for it.
It depends what advantages that will give you. If it allows you to create a Framework Manager model that links Kintana content with your other business applications, then that may be an advantage. If it gives you more reporting flexibility, that may be an advantage. If it allows you to standardise all your reporting on ReportNet/PPES, then that may be an advantage.
It depends what you're looking for. I would suggest that you ask Kintana/Mercury for a demo and ask some hard questions to see if it can give you the sort of reporting you require.
Thanks for the replys BISIRK and MERRI. But having read your responses, I think I may need to clarify my question.
I know that I can front-end my Kintana data with CRN and PPES, and I know that is something that I would like to do. What I was looking for from this group was to leverage the experiences and work of someone that has already "been there and done that" with Kintana/Mercury and Cognos. I was hoping to find someone that had a FM, package, etc. that I could use to jumpstart our development efforts.
So, if there's anyone out there that's been down that road, I'd love to hear from you.
