Title: Scaling factor not working
Post by: TheDarkKnight on 30 Jun 2011 02:43:50 AM
Hi Frnz,
have a issue related to scaling factor.

In a Elist, the values had to be shown with scaling factor as 1000. for eg..when user enters 3000 as value in contributor web grid, the value should show as 3 rather then 3000.

For this i have set the scaling factor for the row A and B as 1000. it works when i chk in analyst Dcube.

But in contributor web Grid, the value still shows as 3000 rather than 3.
Irony is the scaling factor works for the Calculated row C which is subtotal of A + B.

I tried with different combinations of row and column scaling factor ,but none works.

Any suggestions ..pls letme know.

Cheers
TDK

Have you tried scaling the D-Cube instead of the D-list?

Hi TDK,

I suspect you have a format on one of your other dimensions.  Analyst and Contributor resolve these differently - see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cfpm/v10r1m0/topic/com.ibm.swg.im.cognos.contrib_admin.10.1.0.doc/contrib_admin_id18826Dimensions.html#FormatPrioritiesinAnalystandContributor (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cfpm/v10r1m0/topic/com.ibm.swg.im.cognos.contrib_admin.10.1.0.doc/contrib_admin_id18826Dimensions.html#FormatPrioritiesinAnalystandContributor) for details.  If you can't remove the format on the other dimension that's causing you these problems, try fiddling with the priorities until getting the behaviour you want.  Remember you can always reorient cubes in the CAC if you need to mess up your dimension order.

Enjoy!
