Title: Integration of Cognos EP with a ERP(JDE,ORACLE RMS)
Post by: cogplan on 06 Jun 2011 09:09:08 AM
Hi Techies
In my current org, our EP envt is in Sql server database. Currently we have a requirement for integrating EP data into JDE. I had exp on extracting data into FM models and used for reporting.

As we dont have Framework manager and have a different BI system. Integrating with JDE is a biq question I am facing. I am clueless on how to integrate data into JDE.

JDE database is also sql. Hence Please do let me know what needs to be done to transfer data from Planning database to JDE/RMS database. Companywise division wise and this process has to be automated

Awaiting for your reply

Hi CogPlan,

If you are doing a Table Publish (which I'd recommend doing incrementally, with a full publish attached to your GTP macro so that it updates structural changes), you will have a star schema with all the tables as described in the Contributor Admin Guide.  How JDE then consumes that I'm not sure, but star schemas are the standard data warehousing structure - I'd look on some JDE forums or ask your colleagues in that team if they can help with the JDE import step.

Good luck,
Rutulian
