Title: how to create a cross tab with multiple measures
Post by: katdbc on 05 May 2011 05:34:45 PM
Hi friends.

First of all I am just a beginner with cognos

I am creating a cross tab report with two years in the columns and
I have almost 15 mesaures which will be required in the rows. These measure are already available in a table.

How would I create a report like this.I just have the measures and I would use texts to create those 15 row name. How would I approach this.

I have attached the sample report on how it should look like

Put the Years in Columns and Focal Point in Rows. Put the measure that you want to show next to Focal Point as the default measure.

After this, drag and drop other measures in the ROWS (after Focal Point). The Years would show the value of
these other measures. To change the name in the Rows, click on the Row, from the Properties, select 'Text' from 'Source Type' and change the name to what you want.

Thank you for your quip reply.
The focal point is not the row data item  but just the name of a product(donno why its there).SO can we just have all the measures  in the intersections with years as the columns. For the columns ,is it possible to   have all the rows edited by texts

That depends on how you want to display the data. Your spreadsheet shows that you want to show the measures in rows, not in columns.

For the Focal Point, you can follow the steps I mentioned and hide the Focal Point (Set the Box Type property to 'None')
