Title: Querying from Different Framework Model
Post by: k2 on 30 Mar 2011 05:30:54 AM
Hi Folks,

Is it possible to query the data from different Framework model in Report Studio, for example Report A is pointing to FM A and needs some data which is available in FM B. Am just wondering is there any way around to get the information from FM B whilst the Report A pointing to FM A.

Please let know if any further information required. Cheers

Thanks for the help!!!!

Hello K2,

A report in Report Studio can point to only one package. I don't think that you can do it from Report Studio.

As a work around for you, You can create a new framework manager model that contains your 2 models in only one model. To do this you can Start with one of your models and save it with another name. Then you can import the second model into this model. The last step is to create a new Package for the new model that reference your old 2 models and publish it. Then you can use it in your report.

One note is that this may affect the performance. Because you are the only one who knows the models so you will have to analyze the new model and see if you need to do any kind of tunning.

If you have any problems or need more information, just let me know.
