Hi,
I am at a Windows 2003/8 Data Manager site where we are moving around millions of rows per day in a Sql-Server 2005 environment. We will be upgrading to SQL-Server 2008 at some point soon.
We are having performance problems and I think we are really struggling with the server specification.
Basic data transfer builds with a few transformations would appear to need loads of CPU. Can we make use of dual/quad core CPUs etc. Will it make things quicker?
Fact builds with lots of lookups need lots of RAM, although I have hit the 2GB limit here already. Is there a 'true' 64-bit version of Data Manager one has to ask!
So what's a good specification for this please?
We are unable to apply change data capture logic to make life easier at this stage. That's due later this year.
