I am Using MS SSAS 2008 to build Cube with Sybase as DataBase. Now i need to connect the Cube in Cognos Framework Manager.
Please Advice.
Hi,
Just add it as a data source and publish a package based on the cube. One issue I encountered in the past with MSAS was authentication - if memory serves, I ended up modifying my Cognos service to log in as a valid MSAS user, then used the service credentials for authentication when setting up the data source connection.
Regards,
MF.
Thanks for the response Geriatric,
Actually i m facing the same problem of authentication, I have successfully created the Cube in SSAS 2008, and a DATASOURCE in Cognos Framework Manager, but when i try to connect with that DATASOURCE i get this error.
MSC-ERR-0028 The user starting the process doesn't have the right privileges.
Initially I have Created a User SSASCube in Active Directory, then in the Analysis Service Cube. Now the ERROR message says "Add user in 'Act as a part of operating system' policy.
( In command Prompt type gpedit.msc \s
Local Computer Policy

)
but it don't allow to add 'SSASCube' User, I want to mention one point is the system is a domain controller.
Kindly advice the setps through which i can rid of this problem.
How did you define the authentication when you were setting up the data source? Did you enter a user id and password, or did you use the option to utilise the credentials from the Cognos 8 service? I did the latter, and modified my Cognos 8 service to log in as a valid MSAS administrative user. This worked ok for me.

Actually I have used the Cognos 8 Credentials and it worked. Thanks for your prompt response. Now I am gonna deploye it on Live Server.
Best Regards
