Title: MIGRATE TO COGNOS 8 FROM COGNOS 7 REPORTNET MR3
Post by: MISGeoff on 27 Jun 2006 05:12:05 AM
Help please - we're considering moving to Cognos 8 at the same time as implementing a hardware upgrade.

On the one hand I see an integrated approach to Reportnet, Metrics Manager and cubes etc but on the other I see lots of migration issues, re-writing of reports and general pain from bugs and other quirks...

Votes and comments please from anyone who done the migration or who knows the inside track.

Thanks very much

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

I am working on Cognos8 Migration project migrating from Impromtu.
I want to know exactly what u want, u were using any migrating tools are manuvally u want to built ur reports from scratch?
As u said building the report in Cognos8 has lot of issues, it depends on the complesity of the reports. And migrating Crosstab reports from reportnet to cognos8 has some problems.

Bye
