Title: Data Manager Status
Post by: jenna on 10 Feb 2011 06:55:00 AM
Does anyone know if IBM is sunsetting DM?  It appears to be so, yet it's still used in a couple products (Analytics, Insight, BVM).  I have a lot of customers using DM, and SSIS is really not a solution any of them are excited about moving to (and DataStage is usually too much product & cost for what they need).

Just looking for any insight anyone might have...

Thanks!

I've not heard of any plans to take Data Manager off the list of products.  IBM has just introduced a Cognos 10 version of it too.

As well as the Adaptive Apps, Data Manager technology also underpins the Data Advisor utility in Cognos Express and the Planning publish process, so I can't see there is much chance it will disappear any time soon...

Hi,

I have not seen any formal announcement on this. But the way it looks now, confirms DM is in downtrade to set off. I read one article, which merges DataStage and Data Manager. It is quite possible, both are technically talking to each other and owned by IBM. ....
