Title: [closed]Page break causing header headache
Post by: pboud_01 on 13 Jun 2006 10:49:06 AM
Hi all

Ã,  I've got a basic report (single list, basic query) that has information from the list in the header; a worksite name is in the list with 'no box' style, so it doesn't show up.. I then simply showÃ,  the value in the header..

Problem is, as soon as I put a page break on the report, I start getting #!Error where my worksite name used to be.. It's like the page break is causing the data to be dumped and the connection to the list to be severed..

I've tried dumping the data in a second list, placed in the header, but that has it's own issues (see 'header list causing blank page' thread), so I'm frankly hoping I'm just missing something silly in this..

TIA
P.

Is the sitename a seperate list in the header?  If so, is the pagination property of the list "repeat every page"?

Please post the report spec using GO Sales so we can provide more info.

Yes, the sitename is a separate list.. and I've put on the "display every page"..

I don't have access to the "go sales" stuff.. :(

Oh.. and I have no real need to have a list in the header, btw.. it's not a burning desire.. I just want the information to show.. Before implementing the page break, it was simply a reference to a field in the main report list..

try searching Cognos Support knowledge base for article number 1013343.

It describes a workaround for this problems.

Thks.. did that already (see 'header list causing blank page' thread), but I was hoping there was something I was missing (short of going to a list)..

Looks like I've got no real choice but to go with a list, so I can close this thread off and continue in the other..

Thks again
:)
