Is there a way to delete a filter in Query Studio? Thanks in advance for your time!
Hi,
Just above your results you should see a filter symbol. If you right click on it then you will be presented with the option to delete or edit it.
Kind Regards
Rob
I am not able to right click, this is series 7 QS.
Hi,
Can you clarify what you mean by Series 7 Query Studio? Do you mean you are using Query Studio in ReportNet? Or are you using Cognos Query in Cognos Series 7?
MF.
I thought those two were the same thing.
Nope. Cognos Query in Series 7 is the ad-hoc querying tool in the old CS7 web architecture - it requires CS7 Architect to model and publish metadata, and it delivers content into the CS7 Upfront portal. It has its own specific dispatcher and content storage (separate from WR, PPES, Upfront etc) but it installs alongside these and integrates with them. It is based on the old Impromptu Web Query (IWQ) product released in the late 1990s.
Query Studio in ReportNet is the first released instance of the current Query Studio available today in Cognos 10. It utilises the modern SOA architecture (like C8 and C10) and requires metadata packages modelled in framework Manager.
The two are entirely different architectures and products (although the functionality of the two overlaps to a great degree).
Which are you referring to?
Regards,
MF.
thanks for the info. the one we are using is the 2nd one.
Ok, thanks.
To delete a Query Studio filter in ReportNet, click on the filter definition link (above your list/crosstab) and use the 'select all' or 'deselect all' checkbox (depending on version) then click OK.

that worked, thanks!
