Title: Change library number while restoring older libraries
Post by: cogplan on 10 Jan 2011 07:21:18 AM
Hi techies
We have taken backup of the older libraries and we are building applications for those as the size of the cubes has increased in newer models. Hence I  need to add the libraries into analyst library folder while I am adding into the library in library administration. The library number is not getting changed as it still has the same library number. Is there any way we can change the library number while restoring older library folders into analyst.
I searched in IBM site they say Library Numbers cannot be changed. hence  is there a work around on this. Please let me know your ideas. and help me out..

Regards
CogPlan

Hi Cogplan,

Alexis (aka Rutulian) provided a good response to a similar question another member had.  Please review this post:

In short you will want to use the Analyst Copy Wizard to create a duplicate of the existing library and assign a new number to it.  This should provide the ability to add multiple copies of the same library with unique library numbers.

Please review his posting and confirm if this provides the solution you're looking for.

Cheers,
Eric
