Title: PDS-PCT-0024 PowerPlay Data Server cannot read the data cache.

Hi all,

When I try to open a cube with Analysis Studio (same error code in Report Studio and Query studio) I get the next error (translated from Dutch, see also the attachment):

PDS-PCT-0024 PowerPlay Data Server cannot read the data cache.
(in Dutch: PDS-PCT-0024 PowerPlay Data Server kan de gegegevenscache niet lezen.)

On the server I'm able to open the cube with Powerplay and everything looks fine.

Can some one help me or give me a direction to search into, pls.........

I use Cognos 8.4.x

Hi all,

I found the a solution for this, but not a real cause of it.

We restarted the Congos server and the problem disappeared immediately..........

Hi there,

You might want to contact IBM Cognos as this is a known defect in 8.4 but then it also depends on what you were doing at the time.

Check under the ../<coginstall>/bin folder for dmp and javacore files as well.
