Title: error number -15: No explanation given
Post by: odriscollc on 25 May 2006 05:08:05 AM
Hi everyone,

I've been using cognos impromptu for a while. I've had had to reinstall version 6.0.615.0 (I know its pretty old but the database application I'm using it to access is no longer being developed) on my PC running windows XP. The install went OK but I now get this error message when I try to log in.

Error Number -15

No explanation given.

i've looked through the informix error codes with my application and get the following:

Block device required.

An operating-system error code with the meaning shown was unexpectedly returned to the database server. An error might exist in the configuration of the database software. That error might include an incorrect address in the chunk-device or tape-device parameters that were given to OnLine. Look for other operating-system error messages that might give more information

Can anyone shed some light on what this means or what I can try to fix it??

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Is there an Informix ODBC driver that will allow you to use a later version of Impromptu?

I don't think so.

What's annoying me is that it was working until I reinstalled the client software on my PC. I've now heard that the location of the workspace directory may be part of the problem.  I'll see if I need to modify the cer1.ini file

thanks for the response.
