I assume that you have mapped your 3rd party security e.g. LDAP, Active Directory with your cognos server...
In cognos connection... For that report/folder, Click on Set Properties --> Permission Tab.
Check the box - Override the access permissions acquired from the parent entry
Then add the USER or Group where your client ID is resides and define the access type(READ,WRITE ETC) you wish to give....
Thanks
P

Mohsin,
It would really be beneficial for you to read up on some elemental stuff like how Cognos uses third party tools for security sake. In almost every case the extensive help and PDF's are a good start to get familiar with Cognos. We will always gladly help if you run into technical problems, but you really should try to use Cognos' documentation too..

This is still using Cognos Express - is that correct? If so, you have two choices for security providers - the inbuilt Cognos provider or Active Directory. Assuming you are using the inbuilt security, go to Manager and add your required users in here. Once this has been done, follow Prit Amrit's advice to secure your reports for specific users (or groups).

you have told me about security but you haven't tell me about that how do i show these reports to the client ??? from where he can only view the created reports ???

I have been thinking about what you appear to be doing here, and it's fair to say I'm rather concerned. If I'm right, you have downloaded and installed the free 30 day trial of Cognos Express, and you now appear to be using this as a platform to deliver reports to a real client?
The general idea is that the Cognos Express software is installed on a server which your users would have access to, usually via a browser. Each user implies a Reporter license, though, so there is a cost involved. There is also a cost involved in installing the full Express Reporter module, and a cost for an Administrator license. Do IBM and your employer know you are using a free trial version of Express to deliver reports to real clients?
