Can web services be used or consumed in FM?

Kind of sort of yes but no (how's that for a confusing answer! :) )

FM cannot directly consume web services as data sources, but Cognos 8 has a component called Virtual View Manager (VVM), which is an EII technology based on Composite Data Server. VVM can consume web services - you need to configure it first and model the data in VVM, then it can in turn be accessed via an ODBC link from within FM.
