Title: [CLOSED] Connection Speed
Post by: pboud_01 on 11 May 2006 03:16:09 PM
Hi all

We've recently converted existing reports (in app, about 30 or so) to Reportnet, brought up by URL call.. This is working fine through direct connection as well as Citrix sites.. we have some sites, however, where the connection is slow.. as in dial-up slow. The user says she's getting "page cannot be displayed" on her browser window.

We have the URL set up so it goes directly to PDF, so the web page should, in theory, spin a bit and then show the PDF. The only time we've run across a "page cannot..." message was in a RAS connection site where the users had no internet access while connected to the application server.  I've verified that this is not the case.

So.. Anyone know if a *really* slow connection speed will cause RNet to burp?

TIA
P.

I can't verify the error is the same but, we don't support dial - up PDF report consumers because of timeout / efficiency issues.

That's what I needed to hear though; Though this site is not dial-up, their connection speed is slow enough to make it comparable; it's good to hear that I'm not the only one with this type of situation..

Thks for input
