Title: [Solved] Securing Cubes With Active Directory
Post by: davidsoc on 04 May 2006 02:52:27 AM
Is it possible to secure S7 cubes with active directory or are you restricted to only using Access Manager?

We would ideally like to migrate all of our security to Active Directory when we upgrade to C8 but S7 transformer is still used to build the cubes.

Anyone know or use AD?

Thanks in advance

I got a definitive answer from elsewhere... You CANNOT secure series 7 Transformer using Active Directory.

However, you will be able to using the new C8 version of Transformer which will be released in MR2 later this year.

You can use Access Manager on top of Active directory.

Depending on the transformer version you use , the Cognos might add its own objects to active directory or not.
I think 7.3 mr3 doesn't bring any new object.

We ideally want to ditch access manager all together moving forward so I think we will just have to wait until the new Transformer is released. Thanks for leting me know that it is possible though!
