Post by: monika on 27 Nov 2010 11:40:20 AM
whenever the data updates every month,we need to execute each extract.I was thinking of macro which dynamically make the execution of extracts every month.Does anyone has idea of using macro in metric designer?

You can publish the extract tasks from Metric Designer to Cognos Connection and then schedule them just like you can schedule reports, events etc. You can bundle you extracts into jobs and have them run in a particular order. Once they have all run and the data has been moved into the staging tables, you then need to run the "Transfer from Staging to metric store" which can also be a part of your job.
