Title: Cognos 10 64bit Architecture
Post by: EarthDog on 20 Nov 2010 12:07:32 AM
Hi All!

Any news about new version of Cognos being a true 64 bit enabled?

The story is mostly the same as for Cognos 8.  The one difference is if you use the new-for-Cognos10 Dynamic Query Engine, which is 64-bit, as opposed to the heritage report service which is still 32-bit (bibustkservermain).

You can use the DQE currently for some OLAP data sources such as SAP-BW and Essbase.

Regards,

MF.

Has anyone had experience with setting up and running the Dynamic Query Analyser client tool?

I am havving trouble getting it operational as java is throwing an error accessing the XQElogs

Could not read the logs at http://vmelbi03/XQElogs/ due to java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://vmelbi03/XQElogs/

Data Manager is still 32 bit under the covers.  Each build has a 1.8GB memory limit.

when you use the java based query engine you also have the option to set up a 64-bit report server which communicates with said query engine.
